Keeping Truro Moving

January 2017

Happy new year, and thank you for subscribing to our A390 Truro newsletter. We aim to keep you informed as much as possible about the work we’re doing on this project, and – more importantly – how it may affect you. We hope you find it useful.

For note this coming month

A temporary speed limit of 30mph remains in place from Treliske to Threemilestone while work on the central reservation continues. Work on Chyvelah bus gate is progressing well and we expect it to be completed within the next couple of months. Work continues on Threemilestone roundabout, with some resurfacing starting on 16 January. From Monday, 16 January, we will also be working on vegetation clearance at the side of the road from Threemilestone roundabout, inbound on the dual carriageway. This work will take place during the day for a period of two weeks. Traffic will be filtered from two lanes down to one for a short distance around where we are at the time to allow us to work safely. This may affect your travel time during busy periods, so please take this into account when planning your journeys. Walking and cycling works continue at Newbridge junction to Penwerries Road. This will take place during the night for a couple of months.

Bringing you up to date As you will have noticed, we delayed our A390 work start times on several occasions in the run up to Christmas to allow increased traffic flows on late night shopping days and for the City of Lights festival. We hope our efforts in this area proved beneficial.
With no more late night events for a while, our teams can go back to a more consistent schedule, meaning night shifts will usually start at 7pm and work through the night until 7am.
Given the nature of the work we do and depending on what needs doing at the time, we’re sure you appreciate that keeping noise levels down is a difficult task. However, as we do wherever possible, our most disruptive noisy works will take place before 11pm.
We apologise in advance for any inconvenience.

We want to hear from you

Seen a problem?

If you see anything you think could be an issue, and it’s something we can do something about, let us know. We can’t be everywhere all the time, so we rely on you to inform us about any problems.

Do not disturb

One of the things we are asked most about is our night working procedures.

  • Why do you work at night?
  • What times do you work?
  • What do you do to minimise noise/light?

To answer these questions and more, we have added a dedicated page about night working to the CORMAC website.
