What’s going on at Kea Corner?

If you like hundreds of others were wondering what is going on at Kea Corner, we have had the following message from Cormac:

A39 Kea Quarry Cattle Creep – Essential Work

Further to a programme of monitoring carried out around the Kea Quarry Cattle Creep along the A39, significant movement in the road has been recorded.  This is considered to be related to the condition of the structure which is showing significant signs of distress.

As a result of the above, works are proposed to fill in the structure and construct a new retaining structure to the western side of the A39.

Preliminary works to set up a site compound to clear vegetation to enable the permanent construction has been carried.

The permanent works are due to commence imminently and will be carried out under traffic management consisting of signing, lighting and guarding in order to maintain two way traffic flow along the A39.  Additional traffic management may be required during the construction period, which we currently anticipate to be 14 weeks, but this will be programmed to minimise disruption to the general public.

I hope this clears things up for you!
